Bosque del Apache National Wildlife Refuge is located about an hour south of Albuquerque, NM in San Antonio, NM along the Rio Grande river valley and is a favorite wintering spot for Sandhill Cranes and Snow Geese.  The Bosque is home to the world famous Crane Festival that draws photographers and bird lovers from all around the world.  It is held around the 3rd week of November and hopefully at the peak of the Sandhill Cranes arrival.

There are many other birds and mamels to see on the refuge such as a variety of waterfowl, road runners, eagles and much more.  You may also catch a glimse of mammels such as Elk, Mule Deer,  Javelina, Coyote and on rare occasion a Bobcat or Mountain lion.  Whether you are a Wildlife photographer or just a nature lover the Reguge will not diappoint you.  Check out some of our photographs from our trips to the refuge.
